biomaterial experimentation
Exploring the restorative realms of biomaterials
This process provided me with the opportunity to reconnect with the slow art of creation, allowing me to embrace my experimental side fully.
By taking the time to explore various techniques and materials, I could deepen my understanding of textile manipulation, which significantly enriches my Textile Sculpture collection.
This intentional approach fosters a greater appreciation for craftsmanship, resulting in pieces that reflect both artistic
expression and the beauty of the handmade.
The development of biomaterials in my collection began as a process of pure experimentation. I explored the fusion of crochet and open knitting techniques with various threads, combining them with handmade bioplastics to test texture, form, and durability.
Over time, these tests evolved into bold, sculptural accessoriesstatement necklaces and bracelets that became integral to the collection. Each piece reflects a dialogue between material innovation and artisanal craft, emphasizing the handmade, the imperfect, and the raw as a form of wearable art.
